I am from
I am from paw prints scattered across the carpet,
from dead plants and brown dry grass,
I am from piles of leaves in the late autumn,
from the crackle of walnuts dropping on the roof.
I am from High 5 at 5:30 in the morning
and Dora in the afternoon,
from active gin rummy on a late night,
I am from serious scrabble on a rainy day.
I am from walks up Te Mata Peak
and long bikes along marine Parade,
from scrumptious bbq’s on a hot summer night,
I am from competitive video games with my older brothers.
I am from chilling out on the couch and reading a book,
from boogie boarding
and squidging the sand in between my toes on the special day of the year.
I am from experiencing Christmas lights on Christmas Eve,
from the fresh smell of plum, lemon and mandarin trees,
I am from the Long White Cloud.

We have been writing poems-all about me. Here is my piece of poetry.
