Use your creativity to come up with 3 alternative names for this very exciting game!
In’s and Out’s
4 quarters
Dodge ‘em

Imagine another class here at HNI has not played this game before. Complete the rules below to clearly describe the aim of the game and exactly what the rules are.
Aim of the game: The aim of the game is to get the least points by the end of the game, to get points (which is a bad thing) you need to have all four balls in one-quarter at the same time, to avoid the four balls all coming into your quarter, you keep on throwing them to another quarter.
Rules:
  1. You are not allowed to go on your knees or stand up, you have to stay on your bottom otherwise you will have to sit out for a minute or two.
  2. Before the game starts each quarter needs to have one ball each when the whistle is blown you can then throw.
  3. You are not allowed to leave your quarter unless you have been advised.
  4. Headshots do count so others have to be weary, try not to aim for heads.
  5. You can not throw the ball high.

Game Adaptations
Use your creative thinking to explore possible adaptations to this game to enhance both the fun factor and the ability to win the game. I have given you one example for each category but challenge yourself with other ideas and thinking.

Attack
Defence
Game Plan/Strategy
  • Use balls other than netballs that aren’t as heavy so the speed of the travelling ball also speeds up the game.
  • You can not roll the ball to make it sneaky, you have to throw the ball above the chairs.
  • 4 players from each quad are allowed to sit on the bleaches to stretch their arms and intercept flying balls.
  • One player from your team can choose a place to stand and can stay there defending until they want to swap.
  • People on the perimeter of the quad pass the ball to someone closer to the bleaches to allow them to throw it further into the opponent's area.
  • You can talk with your quarter team to discuss some positional play so everyone can learn spacial awareness.
